Life is immeasurably complex and, for many, may seem unbearably difficult. Besides your own personal (and very likely complex) needs, you also face the persistently complicated needs and demands of family and friends. And you, your family and your friends belong to extended families, often involved with friends of friends, all with complications, complexities and conflicting demands. Furthermore, you live in a community of needy and demanding people, many of whom you don’t even know.

Beyond that immediate world is the greater world of diverse peoples and nations with so many languages, dialects, customs, political/governmental/economic structures and widely varied cultural and religious beliefs. All those people have a significant impact on your life, even if you don’t clearly see it. Generally, this impact further complicates your life.

Also, the rapid advances of technology in every area of human endeavors are virtually impossible to stay astride, and theories about the impacts of those advances on the world and the earth frequently pit even the greatest experts in hot debate. The global reverberations of earth to the diverse activities of mankind fill volumes of research papers and articles, but new data is forthcoming, apparently without end and often tending to discredit data historically held as unquestionable truth.

Furthermore, the forces of nature, with all her diverse expressions and cycles, baffle even the foremost scientific authorities. Though humans measure her cycles and tendencies with ever-increasing depth and precision, nature frequently delivers unforeseen devastation. The weatherman is happy to be fifty percent right fifty percent of the time, and even when he sees the storm coming, he can't accurately predict what damage it might do. Besides that, unfortunately, you don't have a team of human experts always with you to predict what nature will bring your way — a deer may pop out of the brush at any time and decide to prance across the road in front of you as you shoot down the highway in a flimsy metal box on wheels.

And, quite apparently, even the Living Word of God is deep and complex beyond the ordinary human mind’s comprehension. Sometimes the words written by the influence of the Holy Spirit seem intentionally written obscure in meaning and open to broad interpretation. Those who claim to understand God predominantly seem less than totally convincing when they explain their points of view.

The Manifester wrote in the anointed article titled ‘Jazz’:

“To all the rivers of you who have made comments on the blogs. I see a pour coming from the blessingness of the One above. Your words are being joined to a destiny far greater than common earth time.

The song that I hear of the voice of the many living waters have your tunes in them.

It is a winging to regions of the new world that has begun. In this stretch of waters new children will be born who speak with tongues of angels.

The Lord meets you in your words and flows as a spiriting into your eyes with the seeds of Love. May you nourish them to grow as mighty trees planted by mighty waters.

May the Love of God multiply in you,”

I won’t attempt to interpret for anyone else, but as I said in my response to that post, it does stir on a deeper level of mind. And the same should be said generally of the other Manifester posts. These words bring a refreshing. Though the tongues of angels may be incomprehensible to the minds of humans confined to earth and enmeshed in the world, somehow, on some level, the spirit understands.

And, the fact that we understand some things on any level, even if that understanding is with the understanding that our understanding will change when new understanding is understood, is even more noteworthy than the fact that life as a whole seems incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to understand. And though many may speak with greater confidence and authority than their real understanding merits, the understanding that we each possess does grow as we exchange it with others.

Problems arise when this exchange of understanding comes by force. Chances are; someone in your own community, wherever that may be, would like to kill you, simply because you don’t accept his or her understanding as the one true understanding, or because you espouse a contradictory understanding. Others may only want to see you publicly disgraced or simply to shut you up. But the war of words frequently progresses to physical violence, and entire nations pit military against military in violent battles stemmed from disputes over understanding.

But those who advocate peace at all costs may possess even less understanding than those who zealously go to war, because the forces of evil continually war against the forces of good, as good and evil can never be at peace with one another. Indeed, those who advocate peace often wage a war of slanderous, damaging words against those who war in defense of the peace advocates’ own freedom to protest and express their views. And the war perpetuates not only among nations, not only among individuals, but within individual minds. Good and evil create turmoil over decisions, battles over beliefs and unrest in understanding.

Nevertheless, true peace is good, as love is peace, as love is good, as God is Love.

However, through the Soundtron, God is in all things, including war. For some warriors, even in the heat of pitched battle, the peace of God dominates their minds as they fight to protect their families, their homelands, their ways of life and their nations. Some may know true peace, even when the walls of the city are falling around them from the horrific explosions of shellfire from the enemy.

Others may know nothing but mental and emotional turmoil, even when nothing threatens their physical wellbeing. And many go to battle consumed with anger and hatred, having no peace either within or without.

For most people, mental, emotional and spiritual peace and turmoil come in waves and perhaps in cycles. For them, the grind and grief of life in this world is mixed with moments of contentment, rest and leisure. For many, prayer temporarily alleviates the agitation that comes from the inner and outer battles of mind, heart, body and spirit, but when they face the world again, that peace may pass as turmoil moves in to take over again.

In the Western World, the mental, emotional and spiritual war (and much of the physical war) is broadcasted to us through popular media. The living waters are polluted with dark, devilish debris. Godliness is openly mocked. Mainstream music misleads malleable minds with malicious messages masterfully mixed with mesmerizing melodies. Movies and television pound us with sleazy slop sludged together with slapstick schlock.

But the tests you face remain yours and yours alone. You have no one else to blame for your errors and failures. You must discern the Right Spirit and choose the right way. You must find your peace with God. You must work through the confusion, make your alliances, shun evil influences and stand the ground of understanding to which Understanding leads you. You are not alone, as advisors surround you always at the ready. But you alone must weight the evidence and discern the Right, as advice continually flows from both good and evil, and even well-intentioned advisors might frequently be wrong.

What if you’re wrong? What if you make huge mistakes, and the stand you take turns out to be detrimental to your good? What if you advise others, and by following your advice, they fall into deeper pits?

As the Toltec author, Don Miguel, advises, “Do your best.” Paraphrased and summarized, Mr. Miguel explains; perhaps you won’t do as well as someone else, and perhaps others will criticize your efforts; perhaps you just don’t possess what it takes to accomplish something the way others expect you to accomplish it. But you can always do your best. If you do your best, you can at least have the satisfaction of telling yourself that you did your best, even if what you do doesn’t turn out the way you hope it will. In the face of failure, you can simply say, “I did my best.”

Some say, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions.” This seems very unlikely, because God looks on the heart. Good intentions, even if accompanied by wrong deeds, eventually lead to the right course. As Saul stood consenting to the stoning of Stephen, God saw in his heart the motive of good intentions, and God led him away, virtually by force, from his path of destruction to the road to Right.

Some have difficulty even praying to God, because they don’t know “how to pray”. God knows. You simply pray the best you can. Perhaps you don’t know how to discern. You simply discern the best you can. Perhaps you feel that you are constantly bumbling, bungling and fumbling through life, and you never seem to find God's leading. Just do the best you can. God sees your heart.

Perhaps dreams come to you in the night seeming to mock you and criticize you, and you wake up feeling condemned. You’re not eternally condemned. Maybe you need to change your ways. Maybe you need to change your mind and heart. But if you can’t see any better way after considering the dream, just remember to do the best you can. Eventually, good intentions will lead you to the road to heaven. The living waters rise above the polluted streams.
