The ole straw broom swept off the porch many x many times and swept and swept “this ole house” and even swept the barn floor. The ole broom was used to beat out the throw rugs and shoo away animals.

The ole broom was left out in the cold; the ole broom was left out in the rain. The ole broom was stepped on, walked on, and used to wipe off boot-caked mud on…

This ole broom was used by papa;

This ole broom was used by mom;

This ole broom was a kid’s playhorse;

This ole broom was played like a guitar;

This ole broom was a play rifle gun;

This ole broom has gotten older;

This ole broom has lost some straw;

This ole broom is still fit to kick up dust;

But this ole broom is tired of broomship.

This ole broom wants to fly like a bird;

This ole broom is still a good ole stick;

This ole broom may be you today or tomorrow;

This ole broom may be me.

When your broom job is completed,

It doesn’t mean your life is done.

Most likely being such a good sweeper,

It means your best of life is just begun.
