On the commonplace expressway of life, people on the zoom road whiz past one another and whole neighborhoods and even whole regions and cities without knowing and often mostly not caring about The Reason Next Door.
To some extent it is understood because it’s survival out there!! And there is the pressure of a feeling in the air that something is wrong, really wrong with almost everything. In that world of fear, to trust anybody is almost a misdemeanor….. To trust a stranger can be like trusting a person holding a knife to your back. There are notions around that this world has become a cage of savage animals turned against each other.
Then there is the power of the love of money. That power is so prevalent and prevailing it would save a person from drowning just so he could pay his debt. But all cannot be gloom and doom. There is a lot of sunlight if people would just open the shades.
The Bible says: “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…” (Psalms 23:4 KJV). Jesus said: “Let not your heart be troubled… ” (John 14:1 KJV). Nevertheless, it is true: this is a time of existence when a person must do more than just pray. A person must “watch and pray” (Matthew 26:41 KJV). No doubt a lot of discerning and perceiving needs to go into that “watching” scenario.
Those who believe in the better good must refuse to go into a melt down of every good, kind act, because to forfeit loving one’s neighbor as one loves one’s self is to forget how to breathe.
I am often astonished at the suffering in every corner of the world that goes on in almost every catagory of pain imaginable. I could spend several thousand typed letters of print describing this suffering; but, no, it’s had enough advertising.
Instead, I want to write about The Reason Next Door. I believe Love is the only solution to the world’s ills. With the internet and the current increasing means of communication, the whole world becomes a big next door. And there is also the little world of those who you see, of those you pass by, of those who you converse with, and of those who you touch.
To keep the reason next door from you becoming the reason next door to someone else make sure you allow enough time in your schedule of life to have time for caring about The Reason Next Door. Because after all, what a person sows they often reap!
Some persons will say: “I’m just one person; I have very little money. What difference can I make?” It costs no money to love. When love, loves enough, it finds a true way. The world has not yet really discovered the power of thoughts via the power of love.
The Reason Next Door may be closer than you think. Let us reason together: we can change this world if we are willing to try from our innermost being to do so.
